Success!

July 29th, 2008 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

Almost three years ago I decided I needed to apply for a credit card to try to start establishing some credit.  Up until this point I had no credit what so ever.  Every bill we have is in my husband’s name and if something ever happened to him, credit wise I would have been totally messed up.  So I applied for a credit card and received it.

Over the past three years I have been very good with my credit card.  I have never had it maxed out and when I make a purchase I try to pay it off at the end of the month.  If I can’t I always make more than the minimum payment.  Well I was happy to find out over the weekend that I now have excellent credit.  So my plan worked.  Now all I have to do is keep doing what I have been doing so I can keep my good credit.

Signs of getting older

July 26th, 2008 -- Posted in Health, Life | 1 Comment »

Although I only turned 40 this past may, I have started to see the signs of getting older. Now I really don’t mind getting older, but I wish I could do it gracefully. I have more gray hair then a person in their 60’s and have noticed an increase in the amount of blackheads that are starting to cover my face. I do use dyes and creams and conditioners to combat the signs of aging. But some days I wonder if I’m not fighting a losing battle. I should have been a celebrity that way I could have “people” to help me grow old gracefully.

Very deserving charity

July 24th, 2008 -- Posted in Kids, Life | No Comments »

Child Foundation Donate to Children in Need

I would like to speak to you all about a very deserving charity that spoke volumes to me. this charity is known as the Child Foundation. To make a long story short. This charity was founded in January of 2007 to raise money to help sick children who have physical defects and require surgery. 100% of the money this charity raises goes to the surgeries. Unlike other charities who take a portion of any donation made for their business costs. This charity believes that any monies raised should and do go to the children in need.

Now you are probably asking yourself. How can I help. Well there are a couple of ways. If you would like to donate any amount, just click on the banner at the top and it will take you to their site. They will then give you a hand guided tour on how you can donate. And they even accept paypal! But if your unable to make a money contribution, you could also do a post about this worth while charity on your own blog. The faster the word gets out, the better chance that some of these children will have to get their much needed and deserved surgeries.

This charity offers this service to children world wide. So even if your not a US resident (I’m not) the children in your area could still benefit.

You are probably wondering why I have decided to post about this particular charity. Well having three kids of my own (healthy children thankfully), I very well could have been in a position of this kind myself. After reading all the stories about the children that this charity has helped, I just knew I had to get involved some how. So I choose to spread the message.

It’s a great cause with 100% of the proceeds going to the children. And as the saying goes “the children are our future”. So I have decided to invest in our future. Maybe you can too?!

Online Payday Loans

July 22nd, 2008 -- Posted in Internet, income | 2 Comments »

When I need to go to the bank to inquire about getting any type of loan I always get a bit nervous. I don’t really enjoy the face to face interaction with the loans officer. This is one of the reasons why I love the fact that there are Instant Payday Loans available for me to apply for online. It takes out all the nervousness that I normally feel doing this type of stuff. You still get the excellent customer service, fast acceptance and great rates that you would if you were to apply at a traditional financial institution. But applying online helps to make the process move along even smoother. If you need to apply for a loan, then check out online payday loans and discover for yourself just how easy this process can be.

Still can’t cook

July 19th, 2008 -- Posted in Family | 5 Comments »

One of the things that I planned to accomplish when I quit my job well over a year ago was I had planned to learn how to cook. Although I’m am a 40 year old mother and wife, when it comes to skills of the kitchen I am completely hopeless. So I purchased a few cook books with some really easy recipes in there and made my plans to teach myself. Well as you can see by the title of this post, that didn’t happen. I really don’t have the interest in learning and I have discovered that if the interest isn’t there then any attempts are futile. Oh well, the family won’t starve as my husband knows how to cook. So I’ll just keep doing what I know how to do and leave the fancy cooking stuff to him.

Still practicing

July 17th, 2008 -- Posted in Kids, Music | 2 Comments »

Although school is over and done with for the summer, my daughter still continues to practice her violin faithfully.  I am actually quite surprised with this as when she was in school I had to fight with her constantly to do her daily practicing.  I guess it makes a difference when you “don’t have to” practice.  I’m not complaining by any means.  As the more practicing she does over the summer, the less skills she will have lost when she goes back.  But I’m also not getting my hopes up that this means that she will continue to practice faithfully when she goes back to school with no complaints.  Because then it won’t be fun and voluntary.  So I’ll just enjoy not fighting with her this summer and deal with “school practicing” when the time comes.

The Internet is a wonderful thing

July 14th, 2008 -- Posted in Friends, Health | 3 Comments »

Last week a friend of mine who does not have access to the Internet asked me to look up Phentermine no prescription for her. She is planning on trying to lose some weight before she gets married at the end of the year. She wants to loose about 70 pounds by the end of the year but wants to go about this in the most healthy and safe way. So being the nice person that I am, I gave her information off the Internet for other methods she could use to achieve her goals.

I am always amazed at the amount of information that a person can acquire just by typing in a few words. It never ceases to amaze me how far technology has come during the last 15 to 20 years.

The Memory game

July 14th, 2008 -- Posted in Entertainment, Kids, Life | 1 Comment »

Last night my youngest son asked me to play a game on the computer with him. The game he wanted to play was the memory game. You know that one. You flip over cards and need to remember where the cards are so you can make matches. I knew my memory wasn’t the greatest, but I didn’t realize how bad it was. He kicked my butt four different times until I refused to play with him any more. He had a blast and was killing himself laughing because I couldn’t make any matches. But I’m going to fool him. I’m going to practice these games and the next time he wants to play I plan on kicking some Daniel “butt” of my own. LOL

A wedding in October

July 14th, 2008 -- Posted in Family | 1 Comment »

Most of you may not know this, but my mother-in-law passed away from stomach cancer in September of last year.  My husband’s parents had been together for over 48 years and it had been a devastating loss for him.  It took him a while to come out of his depression and to start moving on.  But man…when he did he, he did this fast.

Last week he informed the family that he is getting married to a woman that he has only known for two months.  This wedding is planned for October.  As of this point, no one in the family has met her so the reaction to his news was not something good.  It’s been a week now since he has announced this news, and the family has calmed down now.

The man will be 70 next year, so there is really nothing the family can do.  He has his mind made up so we all have to make the best of it.  But..I am still a little skeptical about this union and I probably will be for some time to come.  If the wedding does go through, we will be attending (he asked my husband to be the best man), but I don’t know about the rest of the family.  Hopefully by then they will have calmed down and have accepted the fact that their father is a grown man and is going to make his own decisions.
