Very long weekend

November 29th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

I am unable to work at my outside job this weekend as my husband is away on a course for his job. So this means that I am home alone with both the children. That makes for an extremely long weekend. So far they have spent most of their weekend fighting and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get any better. I so… hope that tomorrow comes quickly. It’s going to take me a couple of days to recuperate from all this fighting. Oh well, the weekend is almost over and me time will be here soon enough.

It’s freezing!

November 18th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

I guess living in Eastern Canada I shouldn’t be so surprised that we are getting some seriously cold weather, but that doesn’t mean that I’ve got to like it. Yesterday it was so cold here that I actually had to wear a black turtle neck under my uniform at work. And this morning it took over 10 minutes for the windows on my car to defrost. I guess it could be worse, we could be having some serious snow fall like we have had in previous years. So if I had to chose between the cold or the snow, I guess I’ll take what we are having.

Mild weather

November 16th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

I honestly can’t tell you how pleased I am with the weather these days. Last year at this time we were up to our backsides in snow. So far this year we only had to little snowfalls that didn’t amount to anything. And the temperatures are so mild, that you really don’t even need to wear a winter coat. This type of weather is perfect for my acne problems and I haven’t had to purchase any acne treatments yet this fall. When the colder weather hits, for some reason so does my acne problems. But this year, so far so good. I really wish this type of weather would continue all winter. I know it won’t so I will enjoy this weather while we still have it.

Weekend plans

November 6th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

Yeah. I know it’s only Friday, but the weekend is creeping up on us. So what are your plans for the weekend?

I have a busy, busy weekend ahead of me. On Saturday and Sunday I have to work for a few hours. After work I will be searching for a new car. I also have to help my daughter with two huge reports that are due next week and I also have to find a reliable and cheap flash drive. So, I won’t have a whole lot of time during the weekend to get in here and post. So if I don’t make it back in, then I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

My car is broke

October 27th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

My baby is broke and my husband doesn’t think that it will be worth it to put the money into and fix it. It’s quite an old car and I have had it for five years, so it has served me well. Well, now I’m going to have to find something else. I don’t need anything so big that would help me with motorhome towing or anything like that. But I would like to buy either a small truck or an SUV. Since I have to retire my ride and buy something anyway, I am looking for something that will last me quite a long time and something that I have always wanted to drive. So… I have to get my but in gear and find a new vehicle soon.

Expensive trip

October 20th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

Man I’m beginning to wonder if it wouldn’t be cheaper to invest in a massive amount of appetite suppressant instead of purchasing groceries every two weeks. Even when I go to the store to pick up a few items (like I did today) it still ends up costing me a fortune before I walk out. Today I walked out of the store with only two bags, but it still cost me $73.00. I still have no clue where all that money went. I swear, if we didn’t have to eat we would all be rich. But unfortunately we do have to eat so I can’t honestly see my grocery list becoming smaller any time soon.

Weekend plans

October 16th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

Well once again it’s Friday so the weekend is almost here. Do you guys have any plans this weekend?

My weekend is actually going to be quite boring. On Saturday and Sunday I will have to go to work. After I get home from work on Saturday my husband has to go out on a job site and fix some HAVC filters. So it will be just me and the children once again. Both of them have a major project to do so I will probably spend all weekend helping them both with their projects.

See I told you it was going to be quite boring.

First day of fall

September 21st, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

Today is the first day of fall and we are actually having better weather these days than we had all summer. But the nights are getting a lot colder and there have been a few mornings that I’ve woken up to frost on my windshield.

Fall is one of my most favorite seasons. It normally cools down a lot from summer and the with the trees turning color it’s such a beautiful season. So am I unhappy that fall has arrived?? Nope. Not by a long shot. I just hope it’s a long…. fall and that winter doesn’t sneak up on us like it did last year.

More crime these days

September 15th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

My husband and I have a police scanner and it seems like the police in our area are a lot busier these days with crime than they ever have been before. Just last night, there was a break in at one of our automotive stores. They were tipped off by the wireless alarms that went off. And when they arrived on scene, they noticed that a lot of inventory had been taken. I don’t know if it’s because of this economy that people think they need to steal of if it’s just someone out for a few kicks. Whatever the reason is, the crime rate in our area has gone up quite a bit lately and I don’t like it one little bit.

Surprise

August 16th, 2009 -- Posted in Family, Life | No Comments »

My husband is such a nut bar. On Friday he arrived home from work without his work truck. I just assumed that he left the truck at his work so he wouldn’t be on call for the weekend. Well you can just imagine my surprise when he told me he is now on vacation. Now I get to have him home for an entire week with no warning at all. You never know what kind of surprise he may come up with next. Who knows, maybe he will surprise me with a panama city beach resort vacation. Now wouldn’t that be nice?!
