Putting off things

October 19th, 2009 -- Posted in Kids, School | No Comments »

I must be the worst procrastinator that I know. Over the weekend I was supposed to help both kids get a start on a couple of big projects. But did I do this?? No I did not. Both days I had a really busy shift at work and when I got home, I was just too tired to do anything. So I put them off. Now I have to try to do a little bit each night with both of them in hopes of getting them done. This is going to be a little difficult as I do have to work a couple of days this week and my daughter has something after school one of these days. But hopefully we will get most of it done and just have to finish things up on the weekend.

The end of a very…. long weekend

October 13th, 2009 -- Posted in Kids | No Comments »

I survived the kid’s five day weekend. Yay!! I one point during the weekend I was checking out Outer Banks vacation rentals just in case, but thankfully it didn’t come to that. If your a regular reader of this blog, then you are well aware of how much my two younger kids fight and how much this drives me batty! Well this weekend was no exception and by last night I was so ready for them to go back to school. Thankfully I have a few weeks ahead of me before they have any more time off. Maybe I can recuperate from this weekend by then and be ready for the next round of fighting.

Science homework

October 3rd, 2009 -- Posted in Kids, School | No Comments »

My daughter is a pain in my “well you know”. When she gets homework of any kind that involves my help, she has a tendency to drive me crazy. She will not leave me alone until the homework is done. This is what happened today. She bugged me so much to do this assignment that I was half tempted to pack up my Samsonite luggage and run away from her for a little while. But, we got the homework completed and now hopefully she will leave me alone for awhile. That is of course until the next time an assignment is due.

Video games

October 1st, 2009 -- Posted in Entertainment, Kids | No Comments »

My youngest son is just too funny. When he’s in his room and playing his PS3 games, you can sure tell. When he’s losing all you hear is him hollering at the TV accusing it of cheating and when he is winning he is screaming even louder. Sometimes it’s really difficult to tell if he’s winning or losing. For the past three days now he has been glued to his TV and video games and it’s all I can do to get him to come out for something to eat. Then the yelling starts. At this point I don’t know where to laugh, cry or holler at him to quiet things down. Oh well, boys will be boys.

New toy

September 8th, 2009 -- Posted in Kids | No Comments »

Well my husband did it again. Once again he went out and purchased a piece of machinery that we really didn’t need. This time he came home with a mini chopper motorbike for my youngest son. Now this machine turned out to be way to big for my son so my husband has been playing around on it. He plans on fixing it up and then either selling it or trading it for a little dirt bike. So hopefully soon he will be able to get rid of this machine and buy one that is a little more appropriate for a nine year old. I know my son can’t wait for this to happen.

Weekend of fun

August 20th, 2009 -- Posted in Entertainment, Kids | No Comments »

Well the sun is supposed to be shining all weekend so first thing tomorrow morning we will be headed out to the camp site. We will be trying a different one this time so I think that the kids are going to have a really great time. We are going to one that has a beach instead of a pool which will be a little different for the kids. They also have tons of activities going on during the day for the kids. So I think picking a different camp site will be an adventure for the kids.

Two birthdays

July 27th, 2009 -- Posted in Entertainment, Kids | No Comments »

Next Monday is my daughter’s 11th birthday and next Tuesday is my son’s 9th birthday. So we have some presents to buy. My daughter has asked for an iphone and iphone accessories and my son has asked for a new DSI. As these are pretty big requests, I really don’t think we will end up making these purchases. They might get these gifts for Christmas, but not for their birthdays. But knowing these two kids, any thing we purchase them they will be happy with. Now all we have to do is decide what to buy them and then just go out and get it.

Ten going on sixteen

July 22nd, 2009 -- Posted in Health, Kids | No Comments »

My daughter is so funny! She is like a miniature drama queen. Everything in life seems to bother her these days. And I’m pretty sure that this trend is only going to get worse. Last night she was asking me what type of diet pill I thought was the best weight loss supplements in the market these days. Well I was a little alarmed at this question. After all she’s only 10 and is more underweight than over weight. But thankfully, she was only asking this question because she has seen a lot of commercials on TV lately about diet pills. So I guess we still get a few more years yet, before she thinks she needs to go on a diet.

Long…. summer

July 12th, 2009 -- Posted in Kids, School | No Comments »

Although the kids have been home for less than a month, this seems to be the longest summer ever. We have had such bad weather and they have been in the house a lot. Being in the house so much means that they are together constantly so this means a massive amount of fighting. Every year I look forward to them going back to school, but this year I think I’m looking forward to it just a little bit more. We still have over a month before this happens, so I really think this is going to be one long…. summer.

On the home stretch

June 17th, 2009 -- Posted in Kids, School | No Comments »

In two more days the children will be done school for the summer holidays. They are both looking forward to a summer of fun and relaxation. I’m not sure how much relaxing I’ll get done having a couple of kids home and underfoot, but we will see. So over the next couple of days I need to get quite a bit accomplished. There are just certain things I don’t like to do when the children are around, so I have to make sure that I get everything done that I want to have done before Friday. Oh well, in September I knew this day was coming so I guess I’ll have to suck it up.
