RV show

March 1st, 2010 -- Posted in Entertainment, Family | No Comments »

A couple of years ago my husband and I bought a brand new pop up camper trailer. So for the past couple of years we have been given a personal invite to attend our annual RV show that is held in town. Well this weekend was the show. Yesterday we loaded up the kids and headed off to the show. Well, the amount of used travel trailers that they had for sale would have absolutely blew your mind. I really don’t think we will be purchasing anything or trading up this year, but the show was still fun to go to and see what is out for this year. Maybe next year we will upgrade to a bigger trailer, but not this year.

Annual review

February 26th, 2010 -- Posted in Family, Work | No Comments »

Every year my husband gets a review from his job. Well yesterday (even though he’s on vacation) he went into town to have his review done. He did very well. Not bad considering a lot of the things he worked on this year (which included security cameras), he had never worked on before. Well with a good review, comes a great bonus. So sometime in March we can expect to have a little extra money in our bank account. Way to go honey!

We went on a date

February 23rd, 2010 -- Posted in Family | No Comments »

Yesterday was the first day of my husband’s vacation. He surprised me by taking me out for dinner. Do you all know that this was the first time just him and I went out to eat in over a year? It was nice. Today he has headed into town which will give me some time to get some housework done while he is away. And tonight I have to go into work for a few hours. I didn’t bother taking any extra time off from my job this week as I only work eight hours anyway. So so far the vacation is working out just fine. Now if we just find another day this week to do something with just the two of us, it would be a perfect vacation.

Annoying job

January 14th, 2010 -- Posted in Family, Work | No Comments »

Part of my husband’s job is that he has to be on call 24/7. That means when a machine breaks down day or night, he has to go. Well this happened to him last night. After putting in a ten hour day at his job, he just got home, had his supper and got a phone call. So out the door he went. By the time he got home it was after midnight and he was back up at 6:00 am this morning to do it all over again. I don’t know how he does it. If it were me, I would need to invest in some serious under eye wrinkle cream just to keep up appearances. He’s not impressed these days with the job and neither am I. I really do wish he would look for something else.

Doctor’s appointment

January 14th, 2010 -- Posted in Family, Health | No Comments »

Every five years my husband has to have a complete physical to renew his class 1 driver’s licence. Well, the time has come. Actually this time I’m glad he has to go. He hasn’t been feeling good lately and maybe while he’s having his physical, the doctor may discover what’s wrong with him. Who knows, maybe he needs some colon cleansing. I really don’t know what is going on with him but, since he has to go anyway maybe his doctor may be able to help him. He’s not happy that he has to go, but I am!

Ahead of the game

November 23rd, 2009 -- Posted in Family, Holidays | No Comments »

Normally every year I am sending out all the Christmas parcels during the middle of December. Well this year I am ahead of the game. Over the weekend I picked up all the shipping boxes that I need for my out of town family and tomorrow morning I will be sending them in the mail. How’s that for speed?? Now all I have to do is finish buying gifts for my immediate family, wrap them and have everything else all set for Christmas. Well, at least I’ll have one thing to scratch off my to do list. All I need now is to find the time to get all the other things done just as quickly.

Another wedding

October 23rd, 2009 -- Posted in Family | No Comments »

I am starting to feel really old here. Two out of the six of my nieces and nephews are married and have kids of there own. I can remember babysitting them all and changing their diapers and now they are changing their own babies diapers. Well my brother just informed me that the last of his children will be getting married in February. The wedding invitations are already in the mail and I should be expecting mine shortly. Although I won’t be able to attend this wonderful event (they live too far away) my sister in law knows that I still love to receive the invitations anyway. That will be three of the kids married with three more to go. Then it will be time for me to start planning my own kid’s weddings.

Trimming down

August 24th, 2009 -- Posted in Family, Health | No Comments »

My husband has decided that he needs to buy weight loss pills. Last week he noticed that he has put on some serious weight this summer and he is in the frame of mind now that he wants to lose it. He weighs in at over 230 lbs and this does not impress him. His access weight gain doesn’t bother me, but it does bother him so he is going to do something about it. I have tried talking to him and telling him to see his family doctor before taking anything, but he has got it in his head that he needs to start this now. Hopefully he doesn’t go overboard and hopefully I can talk him into going to his family doctor first.

So many decisions

August 20th, 2009 -- Posted in Family, Home | No Comments »

As you all know my husband and I bought a mobile home years ago with the express intent that when we paid it off we would sell it and use the money for a down payment on a house. Well after 10 years, that hasn’t quite happened and I’m beginning to think it never will. Now instead of looking for a house, my husband has been looking at newer mobile homes. His reasoning for all this is that the fact that the kids are getting older so we really don’t need a big house any longer. And if we don’t have to get a huge mortgage then why would we. I just kind of go with the flow as I do realize that he may change his mind in a week or two anyway.

Surprise

August 16th, 2009 -- Posted in Family, Life | No Comments »

My husband is such a nut bar. On Friday he arrived home from work without his work truck. I just assumed that he left the truck at his work so he wouldn’t be on call for the weekend. Well you can just imagine my surprise when he told me he is now on vacation. Now I get to have him home for an entire week with no warning at all. You never know what kind of surprise he may come up with next. Who knows, maybe he will surprise me with a panama city beach resort vacation. Now wouldn’t that be nice?!
