Back to crafting

August 18th, 2010 -- Posted in Crafts | No Comments »

For the past couple of days I have been busy working on my crafting business. I have created three sets of jewelry and am extremely pleased with the results. Even though I absolutely love working with glass beads, I would absolutely love to create some pieces with wholesale diamonds. But since the supplies would cost me a great deal I guess I’ll have to wait until I can make some money on my current creations before that dream comes true. But I’m having fun and I’m slowly building up my inventory list. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to start selling my stuff again and start making some money.

Spare time

May 27th, 2010 -- Posted in Crafts | No Comments »

Although I don’t have a whole lot of spare time on my hands these days, I have really been trying to get my home crafting business up and running once again. I have made arrangements to have some business card printing done and I have begun to set up a new website to showcase all my products. I really want to get a few more items made before I start advertising really heavily, but I am making a good stab on it. Hopefully over the next couple of weeks I will be able to find a little bit of extra time to concentrate on this business.

Crafting again

April 19th, 2010 -- Posted in Crafts, Hobbies | No Comments »

So for the past few months I really haven’t done a whole lot of crafting. Between work and stuff going on with the kids, I really didn’t have a whole lot of time to indulge in my crafting hobby. But that all changed this weekend. I dug out (and dusted off) my sewing machine and started making some handcrafted bags. I had so much fun! I had forgotten how much fun and how relaxing participating in crafts can be. Now that I’ve caught the crafting bug once again, I plan on doing it a lot more often. Hopefully I can get a few items made and start selling them once again.

I hit it big time!

March 11th, 2010 -- Posted in Crafts, income | No Comments »

Last evening I asked my husband to drive me into town into the big fabric sale that was going on in one of our fabric stores. Well…. I found some amazing deals and ended up spending quite a bit more money than I had originally planned. I was able to buy enough material to make at least four handcrafted bags and with the money I saved I also picked up some graduation invitations as well. Although I don’t need these invitations this year, I will need them next year so I’ll just put them away until I need them.

Well now with all this fabric I have, I’ll be able to start making my bags. Hopefully I can sell them at a reasonable price and start to earn a little income from my home crafting business very soon.

Fabric shopping

March 10th, 2010 -- Posted in Crafts, Hobbies | No Comments »

Now that my shifts have been cut back at my outside job, I have decided to try to get my home crafting business up and running once again. The first items that I plan on creating will be some handcrafted sewing bags. But to do this, I need to go shopping. Our local fabric store is having a huge sale this week so I think this is the perfect time for me to do some fabric shopping. I’m hoping to have all my fabric bought by this weekend so I can get started on this particular craft. Wish me luck and as soon as I get one made, I’ll be back to post the pictures.

Camping in the rain

July 23rd, 2009 -- Posted in Crafts, Entertainment, Family, Home, Internet, Life, Parenting | No Comments »

Well it looks like this is what is going to take place. Last year we bought a brand new pop up camper trailer and have been making monthly payments on it ever since. But so far this year we haven’t been able to use it at all. I’m serious, it has rained every weekend since the kids have been out of school. Well my husband has decided that we are going to take the trailer out this weekend whether it rains or not. And yes, the weatherman is calling for rain all weekend. It’s too bad that we don’t do any rv camping. This way we wouldn’t have to worry about what the weatherman says. But we really need to get some use out of it. So… we will be going camping in the rain this weekend.

Summer plans

June 18th, 2009 -- Posted in Crafts, Work | No Comments »

As the school year comes to an end (tomorrow), I have been making plans trying to figure out what to do with the children this summer. I have been also trying to figure out how I am going to work around them being home. Well, I have decided to try to revive my home crafting business. The first thing I have decided to do is to purchase some Business Stationery and Business Invitations to announce to the world that I am again open for business. I am hoping that by purchasing these Business Announcements
and business stationery that I will be able to get my name back out there as having some home made crafts for sale. So, if you find a business announcement in your mailbox, don’t be alarmed. It’s just me trying to drum up business.

Things are slowing down

April 17th, 2009 -- Posted in Blogging, Crafts, Life | No Comments »

As you can tell, I have been posting a lot more on this blog this week. That’s because life has finally started to settle down for me a bit now and I have more time to spend on my blogs. In about a month’s time I will be unemployed once again so I will definitely have more time to do a phenphedrine review or product reviews which I haven’t had time to do lately. I will also have more time for crafting and spending time with the children. So although I will be out of a job, there will be a lot of perks for me that will allow me to spend more time doing the things that I really enjoy.

New bead store

October 27th, 2008 -- Posted in Crafts | 1 Comment »

Well I have to tell you all that I don’t think I’ve been as excited about a new store coming to town as I am right now. Last night when I was leaving work I walked by a vacant store and was very pleased to see that a new bead store is going in there. Me being the beading addict that I am, I had to stop and look into the window. They have done quite a bit of work in there already and by the looks of things it should be opening up soon for business. They have painted the entire store, added used cisco equipment and have put in a lot of shelving units. The store is supposed to open on November 7 and you can just bet that I will be one of the first customers there standing in line.

I’m so jealous

October 23rd, 2008 -- Posted in Crafts | No Comments »

The other day another craft friend of mine was showing me all the promotional items that she had just received in the mail. She bought these items to give away at different craft fairs and flea markets during the Christmas craft fair season. I want some!! She has a fairly big crafting business and has decided by handing out this items, she can create more buzz for her business. More buzz means more money. I know I should really get off my butt and start promoting my business a little bit more and after seeing all the promotional items she purchased I now know what I need to do. But knowing this and doing something about it is really two different things now isn’t it? Hopefully by the next Christmas season I will have a bunch of promotional items that I can give away as well.
