Now with both kids back in school I have found that I have so much more time to get things done around the house. I have been able to get my living room completely cleaned out, purchased a couple of contemporary coffee tables and re-arranged my office/craft space. I have also been able to pick up a bit more work on the Internet and have been able to finish this extra work. I didn’t realize just how much time was taken away from me when the kids were home until this past couple of weeks. I really hope I can keep this momentum going for a least a little while longer.

Last night I got a phone call from my daughter’s homeroom teacher. He was calling me to personally invite me to “meet the teacher” night at her school. Now normally I don’t go to these things are they are usually held on a Tuesday night (I work every Tuesday), but this year they are holding it on a Wednesday. So I told him and my daughter that I will attend. Hopefully I get to meet some of her other teachers as well.

Wow! I can’t believe how fast the cooler weather came floating in this year. Just last week we were suffering through record high temps and this week it has been cool enough to need a jacket. What is up with mother nature?? Soon I won’t be able to go outside for my daily exercise so I guess I may have to purchase a dip station to stay in shape this winter. Honestly with the temps that we’ve had this past week it really wouldn’t surprise me if winter came early this year. And if it does I’m going to have to figure out a way to stay in shape and out of the cold.

My husband’s father and his wife have an anniversary coming up and our family is trying to figure out what to get them. Because they are older they have everything and if they don’t have it, it’s because they don’t really want or need it. So my husband and I have been trying to talk his sisters into going in on a vacation package for them. I have been doing some research into Branson vacation packages and think that if the girls went in on it with us, we could all afford to send them somewhere nice. We do have a little while before their anniversary so maybe by then they will both agree to this and we can give him and his wife a vacation of a life time.

Well the children finally went back to school this morning. And I for one cannot be happier. My daughter is going into grade 7 and was looking forward to it very much. This was all she talked about this past summer. My son on the other hand was not quite as excited. He is going into grade 5 and honestly if he had two more weeks of summer vacation left he would have been quite happy. I think maybe he might miss playing his PS3 games all day every day. But me for one am very glad this day finally arrived.

After five days of brutally hot weather, we are now enjoying some cooler temps. This makes me seriously happy! I am so tired of being hot and sticky. I can actually breathe in my house. So maybe today I will actually be able to get a little bit of work accomplished in my house. I do enjoy summer, but I HATE this hot weather. Hopefully these types of temps won’t creep back on us any time soon.

Normally the kids go out to play in the afternoon but in the evenings we usually stay in. Well not lately. The temperatures have been so hot these past couple of days that we’ve had no choice but to go sit outside for most of the evening. But I’m not complaining, it’s been kind of nice. My husband sits there and smokes his cigars and has a couple of drinks and the kids and I sit there with him. If it wasn’t for this unbearable heat, I’d say that right now we are all having a pretty good time these days in the evenings.
