Part of my husband’s job is that he has to be on call 24/7. That means when a machine breaks down day or night, he has to go. Well this happened to him last night. After putting in a ten hour day at his job, he just got home, had his supper and got a phone call. So out the door he went. By the time he got home it was after midnight and he was back up at 6:00 am this morning to do it all over again. I don’t know how he does it. If it were me, I would need to invest in some serious under eye wrinkle cream just to keep up appearances. He’s not impressed these days with the job and neither am I. I really do wish he would look for something else.

Every five years my husband has to have a complete physical to renew his class 1 driver’s licence. Well, the time has come. Actually this time I’m glad he has to go. He hasn’t been feeling good lately and maybe while he’s having his physical, the doctor may discover what’s wrong with him. Who knows, maybe he needs some colon cleansing. I really don’t know what is going on with him but, since he has to go anyway maybe his doctor may be able to help him. He’s not happy that he has to go, but I am!

Although I graduated over 20 years ago, I can honestly tell you that I don’t remember ever having the amount of homework sent home that my two youngest kids have. My daughter’s school is the worst. Right now she’s got four BIG projects on the go. You would swear to god that each teacher thinks they are the only teacher that these kids have. My daughter spends hours every day working on these projects and I’m starting to get a little annoyed. She shouldn’t have to sit in class all day and then come home and do homework all night. When does she get a little me time?? I think the next time these kids have a parent teacher conference I’m going to bring up my concerns with her teachers. Maybe they’ll listen to me??

So it’s been quite a few days since I’ve gotten a good night’s sleep and I’m really getting tired of this. It has gotten to the point where all the best under eye cream on the market couldn’t help these bags under my eyes. I think I need to break down and make a doctor’s appointment to find out what could possibly be going on. Normally I wouldn’t even think about taking a sleeping aid, but this is starting to get a little ridiculous. I think I may give it a couple of more days, and if sleep still alludes me, I will have to make that doctor’s appointment. I’m so tired of being tired ALL the time.

I really don’t know what is wrong with me lately. Lately I haven’t been getting a good night’s sleep and it’s finally starting to catch up with me. I have so much work that needs to be done around this house, but really don’t have the energy to do any of it. For the past three nights I have only gotten about 16 hours sleep in total and it’s really starting to drive me crazy. I don’t normally have insomnia, but this is getting a little ridiculous. Last night I ended up getting up about four in the morning and just surfing the net and looking up random things like richard willich. I don’t know why, just something to do I suppose. So I guess today will be another day of not getting much done as I really do need to go for a nap.

In my last post I mentioned that we got hit with a serious snowstorm. Well, I’m happy to report that we were all able to dig ourselves out of the mess and everything seems back to normal now. For the past few days we have had real mild weather (for this time of year) and now a lot of that snow we got last weekend is gone. I really hope these mild temperatures hold up and we see more and more of this snow gone. I know it’s winter and I should expect this type of weather, but I have to tell you all that I absolutely hate winter!! Come on spring!!

Over the weekend we were hit with our first big snowstorm. And man, did we ever get hit. Between Friday night and yesterday, 25 cm of snow fell in our yard. This did not impress me one little bit. I don’t really care for driving that much, but I absolutely hate winter driving. And when I have to drive in a snowstorm, like I did on Saturday, normally I am quite terrified. But thankfully the storm is over and now all we have to do is to find the time to dig ourselves out. Yeah, I know it’s winter and I should expect these things, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.
