Change of plans

December 30th, 2009 -- Posted in Home | No Comments »

Well last night my husband informed me that there is a change of plans in our moving schedule. He has decided to put an extension on our trailer and to renovate it and stay put. I really don’t know how I feel about this. On one hand it would be nice to move, but on the other hand it really does make more sense to put the money into this place and not have a mortgage hanging over our heads. This way to I wouldn’t have to leave my copper sinks that I love so much. I guess, I’ll just have to take a little bit of time and decide if this is something that I really want to do. If not, I guess him and I will be having a talk.

Getting back to normal

December 28th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

Well now with the Christmas season almost behind us, it’s time once again for us to get back to real life. The kids are still home from school for a week, but both my husband and I have gone back to work. So that’s means I need to get back to work at my home as well. I’ve got a lot of work to do on my computer and lots of housework that needs to be done as well (this includes cleaning my Toto toilet). Oh well, real life must go on. It can’t be a holiday all the time now can it?!

Christmas break

December 22nd, 2009 -- Posted in Work | No Comments »

I am so excited! I just found out that I’m able to get Christmas even and Boxing day off from my outside job. Normally I work those two days, but my boss wanted to be nice to me and give me some time off to spend with my family. Who knows, maybe I’ll even have some time to look up low cost health insurance while I’m on my little break. I do have to work New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day, but I really don’t care about that. Not only can I make some pretty good tips on those days, but we normally don’t do anything much anyway so it’s not like I’m taking anything away from my family time. Oh man, I am so happy right now!

Christmas blues

December 18th, 2009 -- Posted in Blogging, Entertainment, Home, Life, School | No Comments »

Although Christmas is usually a happy time for most people, this year my best friend has the Christmas blues. Last month her son checked into a drug rehab center and it looks like he won’t be able to get out any time soon. So this has gotten her a little depressed. She does plan on seeing him over the Christmas holidays, but it’s still not the same thing. I have tried to tell her that at least he’s in a drug rehab program, so eventually he will get better and be home for many, many more Christmas’s to come. But, it’s still very difficult for her.

Stuck in my yard

December 14th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

Last night we received a lot of rain. And this morning it is quite mild out. So this makes for a lot of ice, which is quite evident in my driveway. This morning when I tried to take the kids to the bus stop, my car got stuck in our yard. It didn’t matter what I tried, I still couldn’t move the stupid thing. So I had to walk both the kids to the bus stop. Well, that’s just a little too much exercise for me first thing in the morning. Hopefully some of this ice clears up by the time to go get my son off the bus, or it will be more exercise for me. Man…. I hate winter!

Santa’s workshop

December 10th, 2009 -- Posted in Holidays, Kids, School | No Comments »

At my son’s school, he has the opportunity to purchase some small gifts for his family members. Yesterday was the day that his class was able to go and purchase these gifts. When he got home from school he gave his father, his sister and I our gifts that he had purchased (yeah I know, it’s not Christmas. But he couldn’t wait!). And let me tell you all, that he did really well. He bought his father a measuring tape. He bought me a little duck candle. And he purchased his sister a stuffed animal and a pair of socks. As you can see, he did really well in his shopping. At least he didn’t buy his sister some breeches. LOL. Now his sister has asked her father if he will take her to the store to buy presents for us all. So, I think it’s going to be a very cute Christmas.

I’ll be glad when this is all over

December 9th, 2009 -- Posted in Holidays | No Comments »

Christmas is creeping up on me and I am starting to get in a panic. Before today we only had a couple of gifts bought for the kids and I was getting a little nervous. So this morning (and I hate shopping mind you) I ventured out to the stores to see what I could find. I was able to pick up a few more items for the kids so I do feel a little bit better now. Now I still have a lot of shopping, wrapping, etc to do, but at least I’ve made a small start. I’m hoping over the next month to get everything done. Wish me luck!!

So…. tired

December 7th, 2009 -- Posted in Health | No Comments »

I’m not really sure what’s going on with me these days. For the past several days I haven’t been able to sleep and now have dark eye circles around my eyes. I haven’t gotten more than four hours sleep each night and I think it’s finally starting to catch up to me. If this keeps up for much longer, I’m really going to have to go visit my doctor. But for today, I plan on finishing up my computer work and then I’m going to have a nap. Hopefully I’ll be able to sleep then and some of these dark circles will go away.
