A new blog

July 30th, 2009 -- Posted in Blogging, Friends | No Comments »

No, don’t get stressed out here. I’m not starting a new blog. I wanted to tell you all about a friend’s new blog. She is completely new to the world of blogging so I’m really hoping that I can get the word out that she has started a new blog. Her new blog can be found over at Ashely. She is a wife and a mom of three kids and in her spare time she is trying to get her blog up and running. So, why don’t you pop on over to Ashley’s blog to see what she has to say today.

Two birthdays

July 27th, 2009 -- Posted in Entertainment, Kids | No Comments »

Next Monday is my daughter’s 11th birthday and next Tuesday is my son’s 9th birthday. So we have some presents to buy. My daughter has asked for an iphone and iphone accessories and my son has asked for a new DSI. As these are pretty big requests, I really don’t think we will end up making these purchases. They might get these gifts for Christmas, but not for their birthdays. But knowing these two kids, any thing we purchase them they will be happy with. Now all we have to do is decide what to buy them and then just go out and get it.

Vacation time

July 27th, 2009 -- Posted in Family, Work | No Comments »

My husband has one more week of holidays left and I think I’ve convinced him to ask for next week off. The reason why I would like for him to have next week off is because my oldest son will be home for a visit and it also the week that both the younger kids will celebrate their birthdays. He had planned on going into work today to see if anyone else has booked that week off. If they haven’t, then he will ask his boss for the week off. Fingers crossed folks that we are not too late.

Camping in the rain

July 23rd, 2009 -- Posted in Crafts, Entertainment, Family, Home, Internet, Life, Parenting | No Comments »

Well it looks like this is what is going to take place. Last year we bought a brand new pop up camper trailer and have been making monthly payments on it ever since. But so far this year we haven’t been able to use it at all. I’m serious, it has rained every weekend since the kids have been out of school. Well my husband has decided that we are going to take the trailer out this weekend whether it rains or not. And yes, the weatherman is calling for rain all weekend. It’s too bad that we don’t do any rv camping. This way we wouldn’t have to worry about what the weatherman says. But we really need to get some use out of it. So… we will be going camping in the rain this weekend.

Ten going on sixteen

July 22nd, 2009 -- Posted in Health, Kids | No Comments »

My daughter is so funny! She is like a miniature drama queen. Everything in life seems to bother her these days. And I’m pretty sure that this trend is only going to get worse. Last night she was asking me what type of diet pill I thought was the best weight loss supplements in the market these days. Well I was a little alarmed at this question. After all she’s only 10 and is more underweight than over weight. But thankfully, she was only asking this question because she has seen a lot of commercials on TV lately about diet pills. So I guess we still get a few more years yet, before she thinks she needs to go on a diet.

Not much happening

July 19th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

Once again it was a pretty quiet weekend. We spent the entire weekend inside as it rained on Friday, Saturday and again today. What is up with this weather? Last night I was so stir crazy that I started surfing the Internet looking for some travel deals. I figure since we really can’t do all that much these days, I may as well dream about places I like to travel to. Really if this rain doesn’t let up soon, we’re going to have to build an arc and then maybe we will sail away to sites unknown. It’s not quite that bad yet, but it’s getting there.

Cleaning house

July 15th, 2009 -- Posted in Home | No Comments »

Well now that we have officially decided to put our house on the market, it’s time for me to get cracking at all this housework. The first room I have decided to tackle is the bathroom. And the first place I am headed in the bathroom is the medicine cabinet. I plan on going through all my husband’s diet pills and throwing out all the ones that are now expired. This should leave us a lot of empty space in the cabinet. I want to have everything cleaned out and the junk carted away before we start having showings of our home. I realize that this is going to be an awful lot of work, but I think the end result will justify all this extra cleaning.

Long…. summer

July 12th, 2009 -- Posted in Kids, School | No Comments »

Although the kids have been home for less than a month, this seems to be the longest summer ever. We have had such bad weather and they have been in the house a lot. Being in the house so much means that they are together constantly so this means a massive amount of fighting. Every year I look forward to them going back to school, but this year I think I’m looking forward to it just a little bit more. We still have over a month before this happens, so I really think this is going to be one long…. summer.

Depressing weather

July 7th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

Yes, I think for once I have the summer blues. Ever since the kids have gotten out of school for their summer vacation, it has been raining. That means they have been spending a lot of time inside the house these days so they are getting a little house crazy and when this happens, they tend to fight quite a bit more. And when their fighting I tend to snack quite a bit more. So then I need to look for the best diet pills that I can find. So it’s a never ending cycle. If it would stop raining and the sun would come out, then this cycle would be broken. That would be nice now wouldn’t it?!

It’s Friday!

July 3rd, 2009 -- Posted in Entertainment, Family | No Comments »

Yay! It’s Friday once again. So it’s once again time to figure out what we are going to be doing this upcoming weekend. We are supposed to get a little rain over the weekend so I’m sure we won’t be doing a whole lot of BBQing (which also means I won’t have to invest in the best diet pill either). But I’m sure we will be able to find something fun to do. We are really hoping that it doesn’t rain Saturday night as we are planning on taking the kids to the drive in. But I guess we will have to wait and see.

So have a great weekend and I’ll see you all again the first of next week.
