Fairly quiet weekend

May 31st, 2009 -- Posted in Family, Life | No Comments »

As in my last post, I was telling you all that we probably wouldn’t be going camping this weekend and had plans for a nice quiet weekend at home. Well, that’s exactly what happened. Because it was calling for rain all weekend, we had already decided not to go. Well it was a good thing that we didn’t have any real plans, or the kids would have been hugely disappointed as not only did it rain all weekend, but my husband ended up getting called into work as well.

But we were able to get a little shopping done. We went to the WalMart in a town not too far from here and were able to find some pretty great buys on kids clothing. We also checked out some of the ipods that they had on sale as well. We didn’t purchase any, due to the fact if we buy the kids one, it will be a grading present and they really don’t need to know quite yet what we get them for grading. But except for my husband getting called into work, it was a pretty nice weekend.

No camping this weekend

May 29th, 2009 -- Posted in Family, Life | No Comments »

Our official camping season started on May 15 in our area. But so far we have been unable to go on any camping trips. Last weekend we made plans to go camping, but were unable to go as my husband had to work. This weekend we thought we were going to be able to go camping, but it seems like the weatherman is not cooperating with us. It is raining right now and is supposed to rain all weekend. And, camping in the rain just isn’t that much fun. So it looks like we will end up with another weekend of not camping. Hopefully next weekend will turn out differently.

New neighbors

May 26th, 2009 -- Posted in Home, Life | No Comments »

Last night we found out that we are going to get some new neighbors. Now, don’t get me wrong, in general I do like people. But with the troubles I’ve had in the past with neighbors, I do get a little anxious when I hear someone new is moving into the neighborhood. Last night they moved their trailer in and I’ve got to tell you all that this trailer is huge! Not big enough for a couple of home gyms or anything like that. But huge never the less. The kids are hoping that these new neighbors have kids they can play with. I’m just hoping that their nice and not trouble makers. Only time will tell I guess.

I need to get better organized

May 22nd, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

With the school year slowly coming to an end, it won’t be too much longer before I’m going to have limited time to myself. This is why I have to find a way to get better organized. Just because the kids are out of school, there is still work that needs to be done on my computer. And it’s a little difficult to get everything done that I have to get done with two little people in my way. Well, I have a month to figure it out. So hopefully I’ll be able to come up with a solution that will work well for all of us.

Possible new purchase

May 19th, 2009 -- Posted in Family | No Comments »

Most of the guys at my husband’s work rides a motorcycle. And now he has decided that he wants to purchase one as well. I haven’t really said too much about this little venture to him, but I can tell you all that I’m not really happy with his decision to start looking for one. Last year his boss was in a serious motorcycle accident and now the thoughts of my husband owning one and driving one really does scare the crap out of me. Honestly folks if he does end up purchasing one, I’m going to have to have a Oakland motorcycle accident lawyer on speed dial. Hopefully he gives up this little dream of his, or I can really see myself spending the entire summer worrying about him being out on the road. Only time will tell, I guess.

Not much time left

May 15th, 2009 -- Posted in Kids, School | No Comments »

It’s hard to believe that the kids only have about a month of school left. They’ve both had a pretty good year of school, but are now looking forward to a couple of months off for summer vacation. But as a mother, I’m not really looking forward to this extended vacation. The kids have a tendency to fight quite a bit and being home for two months together, I anticipate that they will be fighting quite a bit. Oh well, I still have a month of freedom to go before I am locked down for the summer.

The latest news

May 11th, 2009 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

Normally my husband and I don’t watch the news very much. We really don’t like hearing about all the bad things that are happening in the world constantly. Over the years, there has been a lot more bad news than good news so we haven’t really been watching the news on a regular basis. But last night, because there really was nothing on, we did sit down and watch the latest news stories. I was quite shocked to see that the newscasters are still broadcasting stories about Westgate even after all these years. But, we did learn one interesting thing last night. That was, that we really aren’t missing a whole lot these days by not watching the news.

Five weeks to go

May 8th, 2009 -- Posted in Kids, School | No Comments »

Only five more weeks and the kids will be finished yet another school year. My youngest son will be going into grade 4 next year and my daughter will be headed off to middle school (grade 6). I really have to wonder where all the years have gone. It only seems like yesterday that we were walking her into the school for her very first day of kindergarten. Now, we will be escorting her out of the school on her very last day of elementary school. But, both kids did really well this year and are looking forward to a very fun filled summer before they both head back into the school system.

Busy weekend coming up

May 4th, 2009 -- Posted in Family, Life | No Comments »

Well this coming weekend is going to be a very busy weekend here in my house. And if I’m not careful, I’m going to have to start looking for a best weight loss supplement first thing Monday morning. On Saturday I will be turning 41. And then as you all know, Sunday is Mother’s day. So that will be two days of eating for me. Every year my husband and the kids take me out for a big supper to celebrate both days and my birthday cake is always a Black Forest Cake. So this coming weekend I will be doing a lot of eating. Thank goodness these events only come once a year or I could really be in some serious trouble.

The economy is starting to look up

May 3rd, 2009 -- Posted in Health | No Comments »

Here in Canada the economy is starting to look up a bit. When you turn on the news now, it’s not all doom and gloom so this is why I am thinking that things must be improving. Last week I was watching a show on TV and was quite impressed on what I seen was happening with social security disability claims in the US. One company, Allsup, in particular seems to making great strides in this area. They are the leading nationwide provider of financial and health care related services to people with disabilities. Since 1984, they have helped more than 110,000 people receive their entitled Social Security Disability Insurance and Medicare benefits. So, with these stats, I would have to say that the economy in the US is starting too look up as well.
