Last Sunday I had my first Christmas jewelry sale. I sold one of my three stranded beaded necklace, bracelet and earrings set. My friend was so impressed with the look of the set that she asked me if I would bring down the rest of my jewelry so she make take a look at them and possibly do another sale. It’s a real good thing that I finally learned how to make earrings because apparently people want to buy earrings when they buy any one of my sets. So this Sunday I will be taking all my jewelry to work for my co-worker to take a look at and hopefully I’ll be able to report back next week that I have made many more sales.

Well we may be moving after all. A few months ago my husband’s father put his house on the market and unfortunately for him, he hasn’t sold. So last night he asked my husband and I if we would be interested in purchasing it at a reduced price. He has decided to give it a couple of more months and if it hasn’t sold he will then sell it to us at a reduced price. I am really happy for us as it means that we may get our house sooner rather than later, but I am sad for him as he could possibly lose some money going this route. Well I’ll know within the next couple of months whether or not we are moving and if we will need to check out the truck rental companies in our area. And..as always, I’ll keep you all posted on the events.

I’m not much of a cooker or a baker. The interest is kind of there, but if I can get away without cooking or baking, I normally do. But, my aunt sent me an e-mail the other day with a ton of links to different types of Christmas recipes so I thought I might give a few of these recipes a try. Most of these recipes are for Christmas candies and sweets so I can actually see my family possibly needing some Fenterdren after the holiday season if I am able to make some of these creations. If I do end up doing some of this cooking, this will be my first year at doing this. If it all works out, maybe I’ll try it again next year.
Wish me luck!

Yay! I woke up this morning to my entire yard blanketed with the white stuff. It must have started some time last night after I got home from work and just continuously snowed all through the night. I’m not really a fan of the white stuff, but I do really enjoy seeing the first snow fall. Tonight is our annual Santa Clause parade, so seeing all this snow for this event really pleased me as well. I don’t think my husband was really pleased about the amount that we got, as he is the one who has to shovel, but at least the kids are myself are really pleased. I only hope that it stops snowing so that the Santa Clause parade will be able to continue.

With only 35 days left until Christmas, time seems to be getting away from me. Last night we asked the kids to make up their Christmas list and since they were making one, I decided to do this as well. Every year my husband asks me what I would like for Christmas so I figured that he would probably do this again. So to save the hassle of this particular conversation I decided to make up a list and hand it to him. Normally I don’t ask for very much, and this year wasn’t any different. The two main things on my wish list were a Bluetooth headset and a new camera. Both of these items I need for the different type of work that I do from home, so these items are a must have, not really just items that I want. Well hopefully he buys these two items. If so I will be one happy camper come Christmas morning.

As you can all see, I haven’t been around here much in the past week. There is a major reason for this. My entire family has been sick this past week. First it started out with the children, then I became really sick and now my husband is sick. It just seemed like after I got one person healthy then another one would turn up sick. We really didn’t need any diet pills around our house this past week as no one felt like eating so no one gained any weight. Well I think we are all FINALLY on the mend and hopefully life will get back to normal next week. As for this weekend, we are all staying home and trying to get better.

Well I had a pretty interesting drive home from work the other night. I was driving up a residential street and much to my amazement, I came face to face with a deer. This is the first time that I have ever come this close to an animal. But, I was quite impressed with my driving at this point. I just slowed down the car and then let the little bugger cross the street. When he was safely on someones lawn, I drove away. So by ending up in this situation, I discovered something about myself. I discovered that I can actually keep a clear head in the face of a possible emergency.
On a side note, my father would have been crying at this site of this. He was an avid deer hunter. And had he come across a deer of this size, the tears would have been flowing.

Well I have come to a major decision in life. I have decided that I’m going to cut back on my time on the computer. Lately it seems like I’ve been spending more and more time on the computer and less time getting other things done. Working online has become a full time job for me, but I haven’t been taking any time off just for me and my family. Well I think it’s just about time that I do this. So I have decided that on Sundays when the kids are home and my husband is home, I am not even going to turn on the computer. In life you need to find a balance and lately I haven’t been able to find this. But if I take at least one day a week for me and my family, maybe I will find the balance after all. I just hope I don’t start feeling guilty (like I normally do) and go back to the old way of doing things. Time will tell I guess.

With two sick kids home from school today I am not going to be able to get the things done that I need to do. So now I’m going to have to wait until my husband gets home from work and then go into town then. I absolutely hate shopping and driving the roads on a Friday night, but I can’t take the two kids out in the cold and rain. But I really do need to get some cough medicine, children’s Advil and some more of my acne treatments. I just really wish I didn’t have to do all this on a Friday night. Had they both went to school today, I would have been able to get all my running around done before the Friday night traffic hit. Now I’m going to be stuck in the middle of it.

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day about the upcoming Christmas season and about how ready (or not) we both are. My friend was a little stressed out by this conversation as she has nothing bought for her family yet and really has no money to make any purchases. She has been considering applying for a credit card just to see her through this gift buying season, but has come across so many bad credit card offers that she is really starting to get a little scared.
I have been trying to give her good tips on how to decide which credit cards are right for her and which cards she should probably stay away from. I’ve used a credit card before for some of my Christmas purchases, but I’ve always paid them off quite quickly so I didn’t incur a large amount of interest charges. I’m just not sure if she would be able to do this. But if she’s determined to apply for a credit card to pay for all her purchases, then hopefully she will do a lot of research and apply for the best one that will suit her needs at this time. Otherwise I guess I haven’t been much help to her. But it does make me feel bad when the Christmas season approaches and people end up getting seriously stress over the whole thing.
