I now have a uniform

October 19th, 2008 -- Posted in Work | No Comments »

After returning to work a month ago I finally have received my complete uniform. Last night I picked up a couple of shirts and an apron and now I’m good to go. When I first started back I had to go out and purchase a new pair of Dansko shoes and a new pair of black pants. So tonight when I go to work I will actually look like I work there. In the past month I have ruined two shirts from all the grease that I work with so having these work shirts is going to save me a pile of money on shirts. Hopefully now that I have my complete uniform I won’t have to make any more purchases for work and can just totally concentrate on bringing in the paychecks and not spending the money out for work clothes.

Cleaning up my credit

October 15th, 2008 -- Posted in Life | No Comments »

Although right now I have really good credit, I have decided to take some measures to ensure that it stays that way. I have been looking at instant approval cards to possibly put all my balances from my other credit cards on it to end up with lower interest rates. Although most of my cards right now do not have a really heavy balance on them, with the Christmas season fast approaching I can see using these cards a bit more heavily which is probably going to cost me a bit more in interest fees.

So I’ve been doing a little research on the Internet to find which type of card would best suit my purposes at this time. I have been checking out all types of options and have even found some information regarding corporate credit cards. Although I am not in any need of corporate cards right now, you never know what will happen in the future now do you. With my credit I tend to be a little pro-active rather than re-active. And with Christmas shopping just around the corner I would like to make sure that my credit doesn’t take a bad hit due to increased shopping.

How about you guys?? Are you pro-active or re-active when it comes to your own credit scores?

Rough day today

October 14th, 2008 -- Posted in Family, Life | No Comments »

Today would have been my mother’s 62nd birthday had she not passed away four years ago. So it’s been a pretty rough day for me today so far. Special days like today I try not to dwell on the past and the fact that I no longer have my mother. But at certain times the sadness does creep up on me.

I think life would be a little easier on me had I seen her death coming, but I didn’t. She died very unexpectedly and I wasn’t even able to say goodbye to her. So sometimes I wonder if the circumstances surrounding her death makes it a little more difficult for me to deal with days like today. But unfortunately (or fortunately) life must go on. So even on these special days I have to move on as well. It certainly does help that I have her grandchildren with me. Dealing with them all day makes me try not to be quite so sad.

But I surely do miss her.

Entrecard

October 11th, 2008 -- Posted in Blogging, Internet | 1 Comment »

I have stated in the past how much I absolutely being part of the Entrecard program. I still do love it, but holy crow the last few days of dropping cards have been seriously brutal. Not only is it taking me forever to drop any amount of cards, but a lot of the sites that I do eventually get into their cards won’t load. So yesterday I got fed up trying to drop cards and started surfing the Internet for Disney vacations. I figured I may as well do something while I’m waiting right?? Well today isn’t much better with Entrecard and I’m pretty much ready to give up for the day.

How about you guys? How is the site working for you all today??

Work ethics

October 8th, 2008 -- Posted in Work | No Comments »

What is it with people? There is something that is happening at my work that has gotten me to wondering whether this happens at all places of employment. And that would be people showing up late for work on a regular basis. Have they never heard of Festina watches? We have a couple of staff members who are constantly late. And when their late the rest of the staff have to pick up their slack until they arrive. It’s not fair to the other staff and they have been talked to repeatedly about their continued lateness. Where in the world is people’s work ethics these days? Do they think that companies are so hard up for employees right now that we will put up with just about anything?

Stressful weekend

October 6th, 2008 -- Posted in Work | No Comments »

What a crazy stressful weekend I just put in at work. I really hope that I don’t ever experience another weekend like this in a very long time to come. Saturday and Sunday both I had two different staff members call in sick. It wasn’t bad enough that they called in, but they didn’t do it until 5:15 when they were supposed to be on the floor at 5:00. And to make matters worse I had one girl call up and quit right on the spot. No notice or nothing. So for both days we worked two people short which made the customers very unhappy as it took a bit longer for them to get their food. But in all honesty, what could I do?? I had to work with what I had. Hopefully this was a one time thing and the next time someone is sick they give me a little notice so I can find people to replace them.

Awesome acne treatment

October 3rd, 2008 -- Posted in Health | No Comments »

I just came across a site on the Internet which was talking about acne and acne treatments. I have tried just about everything on the market to clear up the acne that I tend to get once a month except for a product called Zeno. After reading what this machine can do and how it can help me clear up my acne problems I have decided that I’m going to purchase one. It seems like a really easy machine to use and it just may be the product to help me with my troubles. I’ll let you know how I make out with this machine after I purchase it and use it.
