Very busy Tuesday

Tuesday is the first day back to school for the children. So like in past years I will be taking them to school the first day. I always like to take them so I can meet their teachers and get a feel for where the classrooms are. Then I have a lot to do before they come back home on the school bus. I have an appointment with my bank, then need to stop at my insurance company to get a life insurance quote, and then I have an appointment with my doctor. I had to put all these little trips off until the kids went back because it’s just to hard running around with two little kids underfoot. But I will get it all done as soon as I drop the little monsters off.

Not going back to work

After a lengthy discussion with my husband we decided that I will not be returning to my former place of employment. Although I was offered my former position back, we still don’t have a reliable sitter and can’t take the chance of getting just anybody. Even though the kids are older and can tell me what a sitter is doing or not doing, I really don’t want to place them in that decision in the first place. So for now I guess I’ll continue to work from home and when my daughter gets old enough to babysit her brother, then I may go back.

Next summer vacation plans

If all goes as planned next summer my husband and I will be taking the kids to Orlando Florida for two weeks of fun in the sun. I have already started checking out different sites on Orlando vacations and within the next month or so I am going to start booking accommodations and flights. This is going to be a very expensive vacation, so I am trying to get everything in order at the best possible price. We haven’t said a word to the kids about this yet as we want to make sure everything is up and running before we do. When I have everything set in place then I will inform the kids and then let the screaming begin!

Freelance work update

I have to say that I’m highly impressed with myself and now I’m super busy! Just the other day I decided to try my hand at freelance article writing. I was told that the best place to find article writing job was over at the Digital Point forums so I headed over there and applied for a couple of jobs. Well I got both of them. So along with my paid blogging I am going to start making a little extra money writing articles as well. Last night I got my first assignments from one site and today I got a set assignments from the other. So this is very good news for me! This week is kind of crazy around her with it being the last week before the kids are in school, but starting next week I should be able to get into a routine that keeps me blogging and writing without spreading myself too thin. So, I just wanted to let you all know that things are starting to pick up.

I’m now a freelance writer

For the past two years I have been working from home on the Internet. Some months have been more profitable than others, but I’m not complaining. Any amount of money that I can make working from home is a bonus. But I am always on the lookout for new income opportunities. Well I figured that since I enjoy writing and blogging so much that I am going to now try my hand at freelance article writing. I have found an opportunity and I’m going to start working on this next week. Who knows, maybe with all the extra money I make, I will be able to afford all those cruises that I want to go on. But if not, that’s OK too. Just as long as I’m earning some income I’ll be happy.

Adding to my inventory

When I started making handcrafted jewelry I kind of stuck to the same kind of jewelry. I have made a lot of necklaces and bracelets, but have decided that I really need to add to my inventory that I have for sale. So I’m going to branch out into the jewelry world. I’m going to try to make body jewelry and earrings. While trying to sell my jewelry I have had a lot of people ask for these other items and when I tell them I haven’t mastered this art yet, I see a look of disappointment. So I’m going to see if I can’t learn how to make these types of jewelry and then maybe I’ll start selling more.

The countdown is on

Well only 10 more days and the kiddies are back in school. This will be my daughter’s final year in elementary school and to say she is excited is a mild understatement. My son on the other hand couldn’t care less if he ever entered the building ever again. Now me on the other hand absolutely can’t wait for that big yellow school bus to pull up! It has been such a long summer with these two home. They have been doing a lot of fighting and I have been running out of ideas to keep them occupied. But since the start of school is only 10 short days away, I think we will make it. Then it will take me a couple of weeks to get back into my routine, but I can assure you all I will be a lot happier person when the 10 days are over. Now don’t get me wrong, I really do love the children. But…they really NEED to be in school.

A call out to all freelancers

So my dream about going back out into the workforce was short lived. I was going to accept my old position back at my former place of employment, but after talking to my husband, it was decided that this just isn’t possible. I am unable to return back to work due to his hours at his job. He is on call 24/7 so he could get a call out at any time. This means I have to be able to be close to home.

So because of this I have decided to see if I can get a couple of freelance writing jobs. So this post is going out of all you freelance writers. First of all if you work from home, where did you find the companies who employ you? And if you work as a freelancer, are you happy with your work? I’d really like to be able to supplement my income and paid blogging just doesn’t seem to be enough.

So any and all comments would be greatly appreciated.

Time for a new purchase

Last night I was commenting to my husband about my need to purchase a new set of Asgi shoes. We started talking about when I purchased the ones that I currently live in and were amazed to discover that it’s been eight years since I purchased myself a new set of shoes. Honestly I really didn’t think I had these current ones for that long. It’s no wonder that there falling apart. So this coming weekend while we are finishing up the kid’s school clothes shopping, I think I’ll do a little shopping for myself. The only thing I’m a little scared of is that I won’t be able to give up the shoes I currently have when the time comes.

Getting a new cell phone

I can’t believe that it’s been almost six years since I purchased my cell phone. I think it’s about time that I got a new one. Don’t you? Well I have doing a little research into different types of cell phones and the different plans that are now available. A lot has changed over the past six years and I want to make sure that I get the best deal possible. So I need to research things like unlocked cell phones versus locked cell phones, all the different options that now come with different cell phones, and the different types of plans that I can sign up for. When I have all my research done, then I will purchase a new phone.
