So the weekend is finally here and my husband has the entire weekend off. So that means a camping trip for us. He arrived home too late this evening to leave tonight but first thing in the morning we will pack up the trailer and head out to the campsite. The kids are quite excited and already have their bags packed. Keep your fingers crossed for us that the weather stays sunny and warm like it’s suppose to. On this camping trip we will be taking the camera so the first of next week I’ll have some pictures for you all.
Have a great weekend everyone and I’ll talk to you all again on Monday.

Tonight my husband and I have two appointments to view two different houses. One of the houses is not in our area where we have been looking, but since it’s now in foreclosure, the price is right. The other home is exactly in the area that we have been looking, but unfortunately it comes with a higher price tag. So we are going to view both of them and then decided if either house would be suitable for our family.
Thankfully were not in a real big hurry to purchase, so we can look around quite a bit to see if we can get a good deal. I absolutely refuse to spend money on a house that I don’t feel is worth the price tag. We can stay where were at for as long as we want so there isn’t any real pressure to purchase. The only pressure I’m feeling is the pressure I put on myself because I really do want a new home.

In January I set up an Etsy shop to try to promote and sell some of my handcrafted jewelry. I decided to give it a few months to see if this would be a viable solution to my lack of sales. But I am sorry to report that this little venture didn’t work out the way that I wanted it to. So I’ve made a decision. I have decided to dismantle the Etsy shop and try to sell my products through other methods. Thankfully my little test didn’t cost me a whole lot of money, but it did teach me that this method is not the way to go for me. So when my listings expire, I will de-list all my items and close the Etsy shop for good. I’m glad I tried it, but it’s now time to move on.

Lately the weather here has been super nice and sunny. It’s been so nice that the kids and I have spent countless hours outside every day. We usually go out for a couple of hours in the afternoon and then after supper go out for another more hour or so. Normally when my husband gets home from work he will come out and join us as well.
As you can see by these photos, yesterday the kids and my husband were having a wonderful time outside playing. The kids especially enjoyed themselves and I’m sure my husband did too. So far it’s been a pretty good summer with a lot of playing getting done and I’m sure there will be more of this type of activity in the upcoming weeks.

When we went on our camping trip this weekend I took the camcorder with us to get some pictures of the kids learning to swim. Their aunt and uncle have never seen them in the swimming pool and asked us if we would take some pictures of them the next time we went camping. So for an extra special treat I decided to film them instead. My husband was in the pool with them so it was up to me to take the footage. And I have to say that I did a pretty good job. I am learning all these new gadgets that he insists on buying, and I’m having fun in my learning adventure. Hopefully their aunt and uncle are pleased with what they see.

With only one income coming into our household, I am constantly looking for different ways to save money. I have been using Snapfish coupons, buying things in bulk and cutting out on most of the extras. I find during the summer months that it’s a whole lot easier to save money then when the kids are in school. During the school year I am spending a lot of money in gas driving them back and forth to the bus stop and spending a lot more in food money as they need snacks and lunch items. And don’t get me started on how much cash I fork out in a run of a week for different activities during the school year. Saving money is a hard thing to do for anyone, but everyday I am learning more and more about how to go about doing this.

I have a very small neighbor who is constantly following me around. She is only about 21 months old, but she is the cutest little kid that I’ve seen in a very long time. She is always hollering across the driveway at me for me to come over and sit with her. And if I don’t answer he right away she will keep hollering my name until I do answer her. She is so cute that it makes me almost want another baby in the house. Notice I said almost. hehe. I would just love to be able to purchase some baby gifts again. But since I’m not having any more babies, maybe I’ll just have to purchase gifts for my little neighbor or wait a few years for my grandchildren to arrive.

This afternoon was such a gorgeous day outside that I took the kids outside all afternoon. Although it was sunny and hot, we did have a nice cool breeze and it was probably the best afternoon so far this summer. I did not realize until we came in for supper how badly I burnt my legs. But after supper when I went to take the kids outside again I could feel my legs burning. I looked down and discovered that I now have “lobster legs”. And man does it ever burn. So I came in the house and put on some jammie pants so my legs were covered but not in hot jeans. So this evening I’m in quite a bit of agony. Serves me right for not paying attention to the really hot weather today.
