Taking down my Etsy shop

In January I set up an Etsy shop to try to promote and sell some of my handcrafted jewelry.  I decided to give it a few months to see if this would be a  viable solution to my lack of sales.  But I am sorry to report that this little venture didn’t work out the way that I wanted it to.  So I’ve made a decision.  I have decided to dismantle the Etsy shop and try to sell my products through other methods.  Thankfully my little test didn’t cost me a whole lot of money, but it did teach me that this method is not the way to go for me.  So when my listings expire, I will de-list all my items and close the Etsy shop for good.  I’m glad I tried it, but it’s now time to move on.

I too wish you luck, but it would be helpful to many who are intrigued by Etsy and its workings to hear why it didn’t work for you. I hope you will post more about this decision.

I have an etsy shop as well, I have not done a lot of work to maintain or advertise it, I have not sold anything from it. I also have a website which I have done better on…but still not great, so I have kind of lost interest in doing a lot of promoting to it as well. I am having too much fun with my blog! I wish you well with whatever route you decide to take.

We just started our shop in May of this year. We have 13 sales so far and a lot of interest. I’m excited about the upcoming holiday shopping because I believe it will bring in a lot of sales to our shop. It’s a lot of work each day promoting and listing but I so enjoy it.

I’m sorry to hear Etsy wasn’t for you and hope you find a venue that works for you.
