I hate you!
No guys I don’t hate you. lol That is what my nine year old daughter said to me this morning. I know this can be quite normal for kids to say, but I never expected any of my children to ever say this to me. And the reason for all this hating going on was because she and her younger brother got sent to their rooms for fighting.
Kara and I have had a volatile relationship since she was two. Most of the time we agree to disagree. She did take it back and said she was sorry. But for those words to come out of her mouth to begin with surprised and saddened me. Even after all the problems that I had with her older brother, he never uttered those words to me. If this the way she is going to behave once she becomes a teenager, then I want no part of it. lol

It hurts doesn’t it?
It really is just words. My son said it once in anger…I think he was maybe 6 or 7 at the time. I answered with…’You know what, I love you…but today I dont like you much’ He thought about it for awhile and he apologized too…he never said it again. He’s 25 now and sometimes he throw at me ’so do you like me much today mum?’He remembers it well!

When I was about your daughter’s age and I would fight with my mother I would get so mad at her and run to my room. Then I would cry and scream and repeat over and over into my pillow - I hate you, I wish you were dead!!! I would never let her know that I said it because deep down inside I didn’t mean any of it. But I was so mad at her at that moment. Then once I got the screaming out of my system (15 min) I would be fine and then I would go back into the room where she was and all was fine. I made sure she never heard a word I said.
