Me time coming to an end

May 30th, 2008 -- Posted in Life | 1 Comment »

Well the end is near.  All the time that I have to myself during the run of a day is slowly coming to an end.  Next week my husband is on holidays and then in two weeks time my kids are done school and home for their summer break.  It’s been really nice having all this time to myself, but now I have to brace myself for having a full house again.  I won’t be able to get as much work done on the Internet as I have been currently doing.  Maybe this is a good thing.  Then I may be able to get other things done that I have been putting off.  But anyway after next week I have one week to myself and then look out for summer.

Headed back to work

May 27th, 2008 -- Posted in Life, income | No Comments »

Well it looks like my life of leisure will slowly be coming to an end. In September when the kids go back to school I need to go back to work. The money around here is starting to get a tight and the bills are starting to pile up. There is no real point in me going back to work during the summer as I would end up paying out most of my wages in babysitting fees.

So until September arrives and I start having a regular paycheck coming in, we have decided to try to cut costs and look into obtaining some type of credit counseling. We are not in so deep right now that we are in financial trouble. But if things continue the way they are going we could soon find ourselves in a little bit of trouble. So I have been doing some research on this site over at www.acarhelp.com. This company offers professional credit counseling services at very affordable rates. They will help you consolidate all your monthly payments into one manageable payment and show you how to mange your money. This is a great service for people who find themselves swimming in debt or find themselves in a situation such as my own.

I hate you!

May 25th, 2008 -- Posted in Kids, Life | 2 Comments »

No guys I don’t hate you. lol  That is what my nine year old daughter said to me this morning.  I know this can be quite normal for kids to say, but I never expected any of my children to ever say this to me.  And the reason for all this hating going on was because she and her younger brother got sent to their rooms for fighting.

Kara and I have had a volatile relationship since she was two.  Most of the time we agree to disagree.  She did take it back and said she was sorry.  But for those words to come out of her mouth to begin with surprised and saddened me.  Even after all the problems that I had with her older brother, he never uttered those words to me.  If this the way she is going to behave once she becomes a teenager, then I want no part of it. lol

It’s suppose to be nice this weekend

May 22nd, 2008 -- Posted in Entertainment, Family | 1 Comment »

Keep your fingers crossed for me guys, it’s suppose to be a really nice weekend this coming weekend so once again we are making plans to take the kids camping.  Going camping again has been all the kids have talked about.  And not being able to go last weekend was a major disappointment to them both.

So if all goes as planned we will be headed out to the campsite as soon as my husband gets home from work on Friday.  We will then stay overnight Friday and Saturday.  Although it’s still too cold to go swimming, the kids will still be able to have a campfire, go to the drive-in movie and be able to play at the playground.  For their sakes as well as my own, I really hope the weather co-operates with us.  And as always, I’ll be sure to let you all know.

Advertising your business

May 20th, 2008 -- Posted in Crafts, income | No Comments »

Now that I finally have some inventory made up for my small home crafting business, it’s about time that I look some advertising. With this type of business, getting customers to see the different crafts that I have for sale is essential for generating sales which will generate profit. I have tried to go the route of free advertising but have found this method to be completely ineffective. So I have to start look at inexpensive ways of advertising. And one way that I have found to promote my business fairly inexpensively is through VistaPrint.

This company offers a wide variety of printing services for any type of business. You can order save the date magnets, business cards, checks, rubber stamps, and announcements. Not only are their products extremely reasonable in price, but they will gladly customize any of their products to your complete satisfaction. It makes no difference if you are a small company in need of some inexpensive advertising or a larger company spending a lot on advertising, this company has everything you will ever need for all your printing needs. Their highly trained and professional staff will work closely with you to get you the customized products you need at the price that you desire.

Honestly…I never know what he’s up to next.

May 20th, 2008 -- Posted in Family, Kids | 2 Comments »

Last night my husband and I took the kids to my old work for some supper.  I have to tell you that most of the time taking the kids out to eat isn’t that big of a deal except you never know what is going to come out of my younger sons mouth at any given time or what kind of stunt he is going to perform.  And last night was no different.  He did something so funny that I just had to come in here and share it with you.

After the kids were done eating, the were able to have a kids dessert (part of the kids meal).  But because my son ate all his pizza he really wasn’t that hungry for dessert.  He played around with it for a while with his spoon and then asked his father if he wanted his dessert.  His father said yes.  So Daniel then proceeded to lick the  spoon clean.  And then he started wiping the spoon under his arm to get it clean.  Then…he handed the spoon to his father.  His father and I and the waitress laughed so hard at this.  But the waitress was nice and went and got my husband his own spoon.

Leave it to Daniel!

We got rained out!

May 17th, 2008 -- Posted in Blogging, Crafts, Entertainment, Family | No Comments »

Well our first camping trip of the season didn’t go exactly as planned. Right now it is pouring rain outside with no let up in site. But that’s whats to expected this time of year. You win some, you lose some. So because we couldn’t go camping I’ve been busy on the computer. On my site over at Life With Kim I proceeded to clear away all the clutter from the sidebar. I took off a few programs that didn’t seem to be doing any good and added a new program that I’m going to try.

I have set up a mini shop on the site to try to sell some of my home crafted jewelry. I have four items listed right now, but plan to add more items in the days to come. So although today was a huge disappointment camping wise, it was a productive day. I’ll be sure to let you all know how this new program works out and I’ll let you know if we get to go camping tomorrow.

ps. I just added it here. All you need to do is scroll down.

Life before the kids

May 16th, 2008 -- Posted in Entertainment, Family | No Comments »

When I was younger, I was a pretty wild child. I did things that as I got older and started to think about it, kind of put a little fright into me. I only hope that none of my kids inherited my wandering ways. One of the crazy things I did back then was head out to Chicago from Canada. There was a group of us, so I wasn’t alone in my adventure, but some of the stunts that we pulled weren’t very smart or safe.

If I was going to take this trip now. There would be a lot of things that I would do differently. First of all I would grab a book of things to do in Chicago . Then I would work through as much of the book as I could to enjoy all the activities that Orlando has to offer. One of the things that I wish I had done, but didn’t was to go on some sightseeing tours that are held by Trusted Tours & Attractions. Not only would I have been assured of getting my money’s worth by taking these tours but because they are offered in a group setting, this adventure would have been a whole lot safer.

Being young and crazy with no fears is one thing, but at my age, I’m not that way anymore. So heading to any far away destination like Chicago I would definitely need some assistance to get the most out of my trip. With Trusted Tours and Attractions, I could get the guidance for any attractions through their Chicago things to do manuals. I have signed up for their newsletter to start receiving information concerning all their sightseeing tours. And because I signed up for the newsletter, my name has been entered into their contest to win a $150 iTunes gift card. You can too! Just by signing up. But you need to hurry, the offer ends Saturday, May 31, 2008.

Do men ever listen to their wives??

May 14th, 2008 -- Posted in Family, Health | 3 Comments »

I really have to wonder if most men ever listen to their wives. After a conversation I had with my husband this morning it got me to wondering if it was just him or if this is the case with all men.

Here is the conversation that took place in my house first thing this morning. My husband asked me a question this morning. And, I answered him. Then he asked me to repeat the answer. So I did. Then he said that he couldn’t understand my first answer because it sounded like I was talking through my nose. Then he asked me WHY was I talking through my nose. I then replied back, “because I’m sick! I’ve been telling you for the past three days now that I’m sick!”

So this is why I asked my original question. Do they ever listen?? I can almost bet come tomorrow morning we will have the same discussion and he won’t remember that I am sick or I have told him for the past three days that I’m sick.

So….does your husband listen? I really want to know.

Happy Mother’s day to all!!

May 11th, 2008 -- Posted in Entertainment, Family | 1 Comment »

I would like to take this opportunity to wish each and everyone of you moms out there to have the very best day ever.  This is a great day to enjoy with all family members.  If your anything like me, this is a day for reflection and thoughts about all the days gone by.  Although being a mother is probably the hardest job in the world (father’s too), it is definitely the most rewarding.  I have held a lot of jobs over the years, but motherhood is definitely my favorite.

So take this day, all you mother’s and grandmother’s and enjoy the family!  It’s your day, so enjoy it to the fullest!
