My husband is a sweetie

February 29th, 2008 -- Posted in Family, Health | 1 Comment »

My husband can be really sweet and caring most times.  Today my youngest son was home from school not feeling very good.  I managed to get him in to see the doctor first thing this morning.  Unfortunately for him, he has phenomena.  So after he was diagnosed, I called my husband to tell him what was going on.  After Daniel and I went to the drug store to pick up his prescription, we arrived home to find that my husband had been there and gone.

How did I know he was there do you ask?  Well on the kitchen table was a happy meal for Daniel and a big mac for me.  My husband felt bad for our little guy so he bought him a happy meal to make him feel better.  He dropped it off and then went back to work.  Not sure why he bought me the Big Mac, but I’m certainly not complaining.  It was good.  This act of kindness and sweetness is just one of the many reasons why I think my husband is the greatest.

My son is a very happy boy today

February 27th, 2008 -- Posted in Kids, School | 1 Comment »

My son is a very happy boy today.  Today we have another storm day from school, so he gets to stay home today and play all day.  Yesterday when he got up for school, he came out of his room sniffing.  He then informed me that he had the “snuffles”.  When I didn’t bite at this comment, he then asked me to check his head to see if he had a fever.  He had a small one, but I told him he was good to go.  He kind of grinned at this comment and then said, “darn it, I wanted to stay home to play PlayStation”.  I kind of knew what this was all about, and that’s why I wouldn’t let him stay home.

So needless to say he was jumping for joy when he heard that all schools were cancelled.  He didn’t have to play the sick card.  So all morning he has been playing his game with a huge grin on his face.  I guess you can say that he’s OK with the fact that he didn’t get to stay home yesterday, as today he got his wish.

Now I’m getting mad!

February 24th, 2008 -- Posted in Family, Health | 1 Comment »

It’s been well over a week now since my husband has developed his foul mood and has stuck with it.  I’m really at my wits end here now and really don’t know what to do about all this.  For the past month now he hasn’t been feeling the greatest and has gone up to the out patience twice now to get looked at.  He was finally able to get in for tests and we are now just waiting for the results to come back.  I know he is sick and is worried as to what this sickness could be, but he definitely isn’t helping himself out and this is what is making me mad.

He hasn’t eaten in four days, and absolutely refuses to.  His symptoms are getting worse (probably from not eating), but he won’t go back to the doctor and he won’t even talk to me about what is going on.  How in HE– am I suppose to help him, if he won’t let me in.  This is why I’m mad.  It seems like all he wants to do is sleep and stay away from me instead of letting me in and there is absolutely nothing I can do about this.  So, instead of being able to help him, all I am doing is getting madder by the day.   And trust me when I tell you this, this is not a place I enjoy being.

So if my story sounds familiar to any one here, could you please lend me some advice??  I’ll take any advice that you may have to offer as right now, I am completely at my rope’s end.

Project wonderful update

February 21st, 2008 -- Posted in Blogging, Internet, income | 2 Comments »

A few weeks ago, I joined a money making program called Project Wonderful.  This post is to give you an update on my experiences so far.  Now, first of all I’m not going to tell you all that I’m getting rich off this site, because I’m not.  But, I am starting to see a little bit of income trickle from this site, so I don’t believe that this is a waste of my time.  Because I have four blogs in their system, the flow of money is coming in at a reasonable rate.

If your wondering how you can get involved with this program, I’ll tell you all about it.  All you need to do is set up your own account through them and then start accepting bids for advertisers to place their ads on your site.  Right now my bidding is set at $0.02 as I feel with a low bid amount, I may get more advertisers.  For this amount, I do get a percentage and project wonderful gets a percentage as well.

As I stated, you will not get rich off this site.  But if you would like to join a site where all you need to do is sign up and start accepting bids to earn a little spare cash, then this site may be just the thing your looking for.  It doesn’t require a lot of time or work and eventually you will see the pennies add up.

I’m in love!

February 19th, 2008 -- Posted in Blogging, Internet | No Comments »

Yeah, yeah, I love my husband and my kids, but that’s not what I’m talking about. Today I am massively in love with my NEW HIGH SPEED Internet connection. Honestly folks, after I set it up (yup, I did it) I was amazed at the speed that my computer now performs at. The Internet work that I usually do in the morning that would take me four hours was cut down to less than half. I didn’t have to wait for pages to load (forever) and as soon as I clicked on where I wanted to go, I was ready to go to work!

The ONLY thing I regret is not switching over sooner. I have been fighting with dial up for over two years and if I had of realized the major difference of speed and time, I would have switched a lot sooner. Well now I know the difference and you can bet that I will NEVER EVER EVER go back to dial up.

So, if your still on dial up, what in heck are you waiting for? Get connected!!

He turned 41

February 17th, 2008 -- Posted in Family, Life | 2 Comments »

On Thursday my husband turned 41 and he has been a bear ever since.  For a while I wondered if it was his age that was bothering him, but after quite a bit of thought, I’m starting to think that this problem goes quite a bit deeper than just turning older.

This is the first birthday that he has had since he lost his mother and I think that this just may be what the root of the problem is.  Because of the type of person he is, he won’t share or discuss what is going on with him.  If he would talk to me about how he is feeling, then I wouldn’t have to go around playing this guessing game.  I will say this though, the further away we get from Thursday, the better his mood is so I guess things are looking up.  I just wish he would talk to me so we could avoid this type of situation in the future.

Were baking a cake!

February 14th, 2008 -- Posted in Entertainment, Home, Kids | No Comments »

Yes, the title of this post most certainly did deserve an exclamation mark as I never bake!  But, as today is Valentine’s day AND my husband’s birthday I decided to blow off the dust off all my baking tools and bake him a cake!  And…the kids are more than happy to help me.  Although this cake will not be totally from scratch (I’m not that ambitious) it will be homemade.  I have a cake mix and a can of frosting.  So later this afternoon the kids and I will make their father a little treat for when he gets home from work today.  My daughter wanted me to go out and purchase 41 candles, but since I can’t get out of my driveway today, I guess he is safe for another year.

So, it will be cake making for us today and hopefully (fingers crossed) it will all turn out and maybe I’ll try this again someday.

Many concerts coming up

February 11th, 2008 -- Posted in Entertainment, Kids, Music, School | 2 Comments »

I’m starting to think that it’s probably a good idea that I don’t have a job outside of the home anymore.  My daughter is keeping me quite busy with all her violin activities and performances.  Before the end of the year in June, she has seven different concerts and competitions that she will partake in and I have to be available to drive her to all events.

I’m not really complaining as I am quite happy to see her enjoying herself and getting right into everything that has to do with violin.  Before Christmas I was getting a little worried that she wasn’t enjoying herself and that she wanted to give up.  But it seems like all these announcements about different events has given her a second look at all this.  So, as long as she is willing to learn and play, I am willing to carry her around.

I learned something new

February 7th, 2008 -- Posted in Home, Work | 3 Comments »

For Christmas I asked my husband to buy me a printer for my laptop and he did.  But, since Christmas it has been sitting in the box not opened.  Well last night I decided that it was about time that I took this printer out of the box and set it up.  Now, if you knew me, you would know that this is a majorly huge deal for me.  I am seriously technology challenged.  For example.  We had our digital camera for over two years before I could figure it out, we had our video camera for a year before I was taking actual videos and don’t even get me started on the DVD player.  So for me to be able to set up the printer myself and have it actually working is a huge huge deal for me!

Since I’ve got the cameras and printer mastered, maybe I will take a look at the DVD player.  I think I’m on a roll.

Groundhog day

February 4th, 2008 -- Posted in Kids | No Comments »

Some of you may not be aware that February 1 was groundhog day.  What this means is that on February 1 if the little groundhog pokes his head out of the ground and sees his shadow, then we will have an early spring.  If when he pokes his little head out into the world and does not see his shadow, then it means we are in for a longer winter.  My husband doesn’t quite believe in all this, but I do.

This year when the groundhog peered out into the world, he did not see his shadow.  So more winter for us.  This winter has been long enough and if this little tradition holds true, then were in for even more winter experiences.  I really hope this tradition does not hold true as I honestly can’t wait for all this winter weather to be completely behind us.
